There is so much potential for your brand on Facebook. It gets way more exciting than just posting, commenting + checking insights.

As you may know, it’s hard to get your Facebook biz page in front of a lot of peeps due to the algorithm, but at the same time you want to be generating constant awareness for your brand so that your fans will start to remember you. They’ll remember you when they see you showing up often + in more than one place. This is why it’s super important that you are interacting on Facebook in more ways than one.

1. One way is Facebook groups. We love groups! They bring peeps together and build community. We suggest that you pick 3 Facebook groups that relate to you + your brand and interact in them frequently.

2. The way to get your Facebook biz page in front of new fans is with Facebook Ads! With a very small budget, you can run ongoing ads to help generate leads or send people to your website. These ads won’t be promoting a specific sale or event that you have going on. Instead, their objective will be to generate awareness and make potential clients trust you + love you!

3. An important part of Facebook Ads is Facebook pixel. It’s basically a tracking code that goes on your website (our rockin’ web gal, Amy, can help install this). With this we are able to target a very specific audience on Facebook based off of peeps that have been to your webpage or blog. It’s a great way to capture people who aren’t already on your mailing list or fans of your Facebook business page and peeps who are randomly searching for your service.

Leave a comment and let us know what Facebook groups you hang out in!

Two weeks ago we told you that we’re obsessed with Instagram. We explained what the grid is and why it’s important to plan it out ahead of time.

Social media is constantly changing, which makes our jobs exciting! The newest thing is Instagram stories.

What the heck are these stories? And how should you use them to promote your brand?

Add to your story as often as you’d post on Twitter (5-10 times a day). Take quick short fun videos of your daily life behind-the-scenes. Your fans will totally love to see what you do on a day-to-day basis

Your story only lasts for 24 hours and then it disappears, so don’t spend too much time planning your story content. It should be “in the moment,” fun + show off your brand’s personality! This is the social place that you can experiment, take a few risks and  have fun!

Who doesn’t want to get in front of their target market? Um, isn’t this the point of doing business?

Every single day our team is researching ways to get in front of our target market AND our clients’ target markets. We thought we would share with you a few we thought were worth testing out.

1. Twitter, Duh. But just posting isn’t going to do the trick. You must FIND the people you want to work with. Answer the questions they put out there and RT (ie: share what they are posting, if applicable to your brand and business). Twitter is the one spot you can reach out to just about anyone. Now don’t go getting all crazy and straight up ask people to purchase from you; start the conversation first, build a relationship and then see what happens. This is not a spot for a huge sales push. Some people will say social media isn’t a 50 yard dash, it is a marathon… the thing is, there is never a finish line with social media. We will always be ‘doing it’ in some form or another.

2. Re-Targeting. Ever feel like the world wide web is reading your mind? Well, it kinda is. Companies big and small have the capability of tracking what pages you view on their website. So all of those people that land on your website and never purchase, you can follow them around the web as they go to your website with banner ads + Facebook ads.

3. Facebook Business Pages. No, not just HAVING a Facebook Business Page, that was like so 2009. We want you to use Facebook as your Business Page. This means you can then interact with other business pages. Apply the same Twitter rules as above. Comment on their posts and share as applicable. Not sure how to do this? Here are the simple steps: Go to your business page, click ‘edit page’ and select ‘Use Facebook as (name of your business page)’. Easy enough, right?

Thinking about adding one of these into your current social strategy? Tell us about it on Twitter: @tena_cious

For the most part we all have great intentions as we start our work day.

Our reminders, tasks and to-do lists are laid out in front of us, we are ready to start checking things off… when suddenly, you open up your computer.
And here come all those emails. You delete half, respond to a few, skim over a couple and just when you see a light at the end of the tunnel, the phone rings.

By the time you get through all that it’s 3pm and you finally get to your social media. You have the best intentions of logging into Facebook and rockin’ out your social media. But soon, you see who’s birthday it is, who just bought a new car, and, OH, look at that baby! That is a cute baby!

And now it’s time to go home and you haven’t even made it to your business page.

NEWSFLASH. Cats, Candy Crush, and babies are not going to help you build your business!

This may seem a bit obvious but leaving the personal stuff for after work and focusing on business during work hours will change your day dramatically.

Easier said then done though, right?

We know it’s easy to get sucked in even when you think you have those blinders on. But let us help you re-adjust them!

You have some amazing tools at your finger tips and we want you to put them into action. We are talking about lists people. Lists are going to save you time and keep you on track.

You can “ooh” and “awe” over those cute kittens later.

Let’s talk about these Facebook lists first.

You can do this two ways; scroll over to the side and either select Friends (list of friends only) or Interests (list of friends and pages). Go through and pick out those people and pages that will help you in business. NO-ONE-ELSE. Every time you log in, click on that list! No peeking!

Now, how many Twitter followers do you have? 400? 1,000? 2,000?! No matter how many you have, that’s a lot of tweets to look at! They have lists for a reason. Start using them.

Create lists and separate your interests. Pile your networking people in one, your favorite organizations in another, and create one for the the celeb gossip… if you MUST know the latest Miley news.

Just imagine, sticking to business related things while at work and personal matters after work hours. Crazy, right?

Put your tin can away and stop holding that sign.

The begging has to stop.

Your friends and fans are sick of it and frankly we know you are too. You are a passionate business owner but you sound like a panhandler with a piece of ratty cardboard. If you have ever posted ‘Please like my page!’ or ‘Help me get to 100 fans!’ STOP.

Stop begging. Start Seducing.

We know YOU have awesome services and products. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be reading this. So we need a pinkie swear from all of you, a promise that you will never ever beg on your social media platforms… again!  If you are ready for the challenge, tweet to us by clicking here. Pinkies up.

The question now is, how in the heck are you going to start seducing? What do your fans want to hear?

It is simple, they want the same thing YOU want.  Simple content that entertains or helps them solve a problem.

So in the past (it is the past because you pinkie swore you would never do it again), you may have posted something like:

‘We are only 15 fans away from hitting our goal! PLEASE share this post to spread the word!’

When no one shared the post and you lost a fan it was a bit discouraging. We get it.

Now let’s forget about the past and start working on the future of seducing your future fans! We know that that you have more than just a Facebook page and bringing people from those platforms over to Facebook is a great way to grow your fan base. Here is an example of how to do that:

‘2,164 rockin peeps are soaking up the awesomeness on our Facebook page. Join the party here:

Enticing, right?  Now go ahead, test it out and let us know what happens!

362 billion Oreo cookies have been sold in the last 100 years and chances are you have consumed one, or more. The Oreo is said to be the best selling cookie of the 20th century.

Do these numbers all add up because this cookie tastes so good? Not necessarily. One could argue that macaroons, chocolate chip cookies and don’t forget those thin mints are actually better BUT what Oreo has figured out is their marketing. They have a spontaneous strategy that has received the attention of every target market in the 50 states, and beyond.

The spontaneity of their Tweet during the Super Bowl outage was some of the best posts and raved about for months, clearly. You can bet that marketing departments all over the world are trying to figure out how to do real time marketing, scheduling meeting after meeting. Some are saying things like‘Real Time Marketing is brilliant, but is it doable?’

Of course it is! You don’t need meetings to tell you how to be spontaneous. You just need to live! Oreos and Football have little to do with one another. Sure, one could argue that eating + watching football go hand in hand BUT when you think football you think beer, appetizers… you get our point.

Every day you create news worthy content and so does the rest of the world! Our point, use each other.

Oreo actually paid millions of dollars to the networks to have an ad on during the Super Bowl. They didn’t have to though because they caught our attention by using a situation for their benefit, on Twitter of all things. They were simply spontaneous. They couldn’t plan the outage but they could plan to be ready for spontaneity.

What is happening in the world today that you could use?

Plan to be spontaneous.

Nearly every day we get the same question at tena.cious about Facebook business pages ‘Why do I need to pay to promote my posts when I have already paid to gain the fan base I have?’ Good question. I am positive that Mr. Zuckerberg is receiving daily ‘hate-mail’ on this very topic while marketing peeps are trying to do everything they can to work around this mere bump in the road.

Some are turning their efforts to Twitter while others may be jumping back on the Myspace bandwagon, gasp. During my morning ritual of cruising through the latest Facebook posts and then on to Google Reader I found this little tidbit where Mark Cuban says ‘The New Myspace looks promising’, really? Is it time to dust off those old passwords and re-design your Myspace profile? Not just yet. Continue reading Should Your Business Still Market on Facebook?
