#BEL13VE

Tim Mahoney releases a new song inspired by Jack Jablonski, a young hockey player that was injured on the ice. If you live in the Twin Cities area and have not heard his story I bel13ve it would be safe to say you have been living under a rock for the past month! Jack Jablonski, known as Jabs to many, has inspired not only the hockey community but anyone that has heard his story. He truly has given many of us a reason to bel13ve.

This is truly why we love working with Tim Mahoney. Check out his Facebook page for updates, shows and to see the many people he has also inspired: www.facebook.com/timmahoneycmon

{Client Highlight} Tim Mahoney

Tim MahoneyIf you have not been to a Tim Mahoney concert, whether it be a  solo performance or with his band, you are missing out. I was introduced to Tim this last fall at his CD release party at Faces in Saint Paul. It was a fantastic night packed with great music and loyal Tim Mahoney fans. I am not sure his newest CD, Live from the Sky, has left my cars CD player since. You could say I jumped on the Tim Mahoney bandwagon.

Tim often says that most people in Minnesota have heard of him and but not “heard” him. Well change is coming! If you have turned your TV to NBC in the last couple of weeks you have been sure to see a plug for the new show The Voice and therefore heard Tim Mahoney sing. Hard to miss the comical comment from Adam Levine as he turns his chair around and says “This is gonna get a little bit weird for a second… I thought you were a chick.” Tim’s reaction is priceless. Along with the rest of America, we are highly anticipating the premiere of  The Voice April 26th.

We wish you the best Tim and we will be supporting you through this amazing  journey!

Picking your Advertisers

While running at the gym, going for a walk or even just people watching at the mall  I notice how many brands are being advertised.

The crazy thing is these advertisers do not get to pick who wears their logo. Do you think this matters? If a certain brand is trying to target one group of people but another is wearing their stuff will it change the brand? One that comes to mind is the brand Affliction they have a very  pin pointed target market but anyone can buy their stuff.

This past summer we sponsored a softball team and well the girls got in a pretty competitive league and I am not sure they won more than a game or two. It actually got to be quite humorous but I think this could be a reflection on a brand. We will be sponsoring them again this year but on one condition… they win more than they lose ;)

What are your thoughts when it comes to advertising?

Office Must Haves

As most of you know, we moved into a fun little office space in Saint Paul in the Historic Dakotah Building. It is about as fun as moving into your first house. You get to pick out decorations, office supplies and organize everything just the way you want it. We have found that there are a few essentials though…

1. Girl Scout Cookies… and not just any cookie but the Thin Mint.
2. COFFEE
3. An i-pod and docking station with a variety of good tunes (of course our favorite “Tim Mahoney“)
4. Fun peeps to hang out with – our staff rocks!

What makes your office complete?

Finding Time

So I got called out (several times)… I broke my promise. My last blog post was over a month ago. It is not for lack of content but finding the time to put it on “paper”. For you bloggers out there, how do you find time?

Mutual Friends

Mutual friends on Facebook intrigue me. I personally know each and every person I “friend”, I know this is hard to believe since 1,100+ people bombard my wall on a regular basis, but it is true. Facebook can consume you, but I like it. So many things to grab your time and attention but one of my favorite things on Facebook is adding a new friend. The first thing I do: Check mutual friends. Learning about how people are connected is interesting to me. I almost always send out a message to that person asking, “how do you know so-and-so?” I do this every time I add another person to our tena.cious team as well, I find out some fairly interesting things about people. The stories are great and it is really what Facebook is all about, the stories. The six degrees of separation get a little smaller, don’t they? Is it strange that we may have never met but share 30+ mutual friends? Do you and I have mutual friends? Who are they? Let’s dig into the stories! – tena

Blog Smog

On a daily and sometimes hourly basis I come up with a blog topic… as you can clearly see, I totally stink at actually posting these thoughts. Not sure every thought should be written, but the goal is that the thought provoking ones would be.

I am now writing it for everyone to see… this blog will now be a priority. Pinky swear.

Our {tena.cious} Events: New Years Eve

Tim Mahoney Show NYEDon’t have plans for New Year’s Eve yet? Perfect. Wait, you do? Well it’s about time that you cancel them. You aren’t going to want to miss the first local Tim Mahoney New Year’s Eve show in three years. This Twin Cities musician’s last New Year’s Eve show was a riot at the Hyatt, and this year the only thing that’s different is the location. Faces is located in Mears Park, where the champagne-induced shenanigans are sure to ensue. Get there early and check out special guest, Smell My Pillow.

With every ticket purchase you will be entered into a contest for a chance to win the Tim Mahoney Experience! What’s that you ask? Well, it’s a private party for you and 50 of your closest friends. Not only will Tim Mahoney provide the tunage, but Faces is catering the event and Skyy Vodka is providing the drinks. You must be present at the New Year’s Eve show to win the Tim Mahoney experience, which is valued at $6000. You will also be entered to win a “Pillow Party” with SMP. A rock experience you will not forget.

Our {tena.cious} Client: This is Tahne

Creative people are just fun to work with, hands down the most interesting and inspiring people you will ever meet. They have a story and they want to share it. A little over a year ago I was able to take the leap of faith to start {tena.cious} partially because of an artist named Tahne. She is a singer/songwriter based out of the Twin Cities, who like most musicians is looking to make it to the “big time”.  I honestly believe Tahne has the talent and the passion to make this crazy dream come true. So about 6 months ago Tahne, Guy and I started to get aggressive about contacting songwriters and producers with the hope that someone would see what we saw. Today Tahne is in L.A. working with David Hodges in his studio… this is awesome, right? Dreams coming true as I type. I love it. Tahne, you go girl! So glad to be a part of this journey. – tena

Our {tena.cious} Team – Samantha Chambers

Sam is not your average marketing consultant. She is the mom of one spunky little girl, has a baby on the way and is most likely the trendiest woman we know. The flexibility she has while working with tena.cious makes it possible for this to be her side gig, so being a Mommy can be #1. Don’t get me wrong, she works her tail off for us and goes that extra mile for her clients. I know they would agree as well! Here is a little blurb from Sam on social media (what we do best):

Social Media is a very complex world and to many people, they THINK they have it.  In fact they spend hours working on a plan to get their social media footprint started.  Have you ever considered this might be a little insane?  You’re doing the same thing over, and over, and expecting a different result.

We get it.  We DO.  We have a plan, we know what you need, we are ready to implement, and we get results.

Samantha Chambers – {tena.cious} Marketing Consultant
